Scotland’s Marc Warren matched the course record with a round of 63 – only for it to be broken hours later by Rhys Davies with a 62 – at the Celtic Manor Resort on Sunday.

Having failed to break 70 in his previous three rounds in Newport, the eight-under-par score came out of the blue, but Warren believes he has not had the results his form has merited so far in 2010. You can have a look at golf clubs for sale on Mygolfclubsforsale.com.

With most big names choosing to miss the first European Tour event staged at the Penha Longa course for 11 years, the race for the top prize appears wide open.

Warren had the disappointment of failing to qualify for the Open on Monday, but his spectacular final-day performance in Wales has convinced him a run of fine form could be just around the corner.

Celtic Manor will host the Ryder Cup later this year and Warren realistically knows he will not be part of the European team, accepting one impressive round will not be enough to dazzle captain Colin Montgomerie.

“I think I’ll need probably about another 25 of them to get in the team but you never know, stranger things have happened,” Warren said.

After hearing of Warren’s round, Montgomerie offered plenty of praise. (taylormade r7 cgb max fairway wood)

Warren’s fellow Scot said: “He has real talent, Marc Warren, and that was overdue so that was nice for him and it was nice to see. A 63 with a bogey is a good score. Here’s hoping he can show some form.”

Where Warren failed in the Open qualifiers at Sunningdale, another Scot, Andrew Coltart, secured his place in the St Andrews field.

Coltart finished in a share of second place – alongside Montgomerie – after the 36-hole one-day event, and is back in action in Portugal. The 40-year-old has had scant success on tour so far this season but the Open fillip should provide encouragement this time.

Of the top 50 on the Race to Dubai list, just six are involved in the event where the first prize is worth a handsome 166,660 Euros (£138,000).

Australian Marcus Fraser, winner of the Ballantine’s Championship in South Korea earlier this year, is 23rd on the list and features – as do England’s Robert Rock and Chris Wood, who are both seeking their first European Tour victories having threatened to make the breakthrough in recent weeks.

Wood, a contender at each of the past two Open Championships, fell away in the final round to finish sixth at the recent BMW PGA Championship but is strongly fancied to do well this week.

As a beginner, do not rush out and buy a set of high priced golf clubs. Buy a set of used clubs, or better yet rent your clubs. Take a little time to see if you really enjoy the game of golf, and if you will stick to it first. The used or rented clubs won’t be the top of the line, but they will get you through several games of golf to see if you are going to stick with it. This is also a good opportunity to start researching exactly what clubs you need when you are ready to buy a new set.

Golf is fun, but the sport should not be taken lightly. It is a sport – it isn’t just a bunch of retired men knocking a ball around with golf clubs. It takes a great deal of skill and technique to master the game. The pros you see on television make it look quite simple – but it isn’t. The concepts you will learn from more experienced golfers will sound easy – and look easy – in theory, but in practice, they are quite difficult. The sooner you realize this, the faster you will start to improve your game.

While golf does require skill and technique, it is still meant to be enjoyed and the experience should be relaxing. If you get angry over bad shots or you find that you are not enjoying the game, you should back up and re-evaluate your reasons for playing the game. Try to look at things from a new perspective. It is a game that tests your skill – but it should not test your patience!

Choose your golf aids carefully. A great deal of money can be wasted on aids, courses, and videos that turn out to not be any help at all. When possible, buy used aids, courses, and videos. Save your golfing money for more important things – like clubs, balls, and tees! Used golf clubs aren’t very good – used training equipment usually works quite well.

The most important golf tips you will ever receive are the ones that focus on good sportsmanship. Never make fun of other players. Some people do look funny playing golf – but those funny looking people can probably beat every aspect of your game, and they will have the last laugh.

Texas-based Queenslander Day had been in pole position at 10 under par with a two-shot lead heading into the final day at the par-70 TPC Four Seasons Resort Los Colinas near Dallas but saw first round co-leader Adams move ahead of him and take a one-shot lead as the leaders turned for home.

“Oh man, I made it tough on myself today,” Day admitted. “It was a real fight out there today and I’m just glad I hung in there.

“This is what I’ve been practising so hard for. I wore my heart on my collar and really wanted to get this done and I’m just so happy I’ve finally done it.

“I’m just so happy I holed that putt on 18.”

Day had a nervy start to his fourth round, bogeying the opening hole before birdies at the second and fourth appeared to get him back on course.

Then the Australian wobbled again, three bogeys in his next four holes sending him back to 10 under before Adams birdied the 10th to move to 11 under and a one-stroke advantage.

Day went back in front on the inward nine and went to the 72nd hole with a one-shot lead at 11 under over Adams, only for both players to find the water.

The Australian, though, was in the better position having cleared the hazard and Adams’ recovery left Day with two putts for the title.

Day made it at the first attempt, posted a 72 and claimed his maiden title at 10 under, a two-shot winner over Adams, who double bogeyed for a 72 to fall into a three-way tie for second with fellow Americans Jeff Overton and Brian Gay, who shot a seven-under 63, at eight under.

There was an interesting thing, but not the first time. European number one Lee Westwood has called for compulsory checks to be introduced following the changes to the rules regarding grooves on golf clubs.

The new requirements came into force for professionals for the first time in Abu Dhabi last week, and outlaw “boxed” grooves in favour of a more “v” shape in an attempt to reduce the amount of spin.

As a matter of fact, The changes played a part in Westwood missing the cut on his first appearance of the season after being left in the dark over the legality of a new set of irons with testing only optional.

After missing the cut in Abu Dhabi, Westwood has since had the new discount golf clubs tested. And after they were found to be legal the world number four used them for the first time competitively during today’s first round at the Commercialbank Qatar Masters.

He carded a four under par 68 to sit just a shot adrift of leaders Oliver Wilson and Bradley Dredge.

Westwood believes once the decision was made to change the rules officials should have pre-empted any confusion by enforcing a time limit for players to have their clubs checked after the start of the new season to ensure a level playing field. He said, “I just don’t see the point in bringing that rule in, why leave it up to the individual?”

Do you like play golf? Do you want to be an outstanding golfer like Tiger Woods? And whether you are looking to become a golf master. Perhaps you have been at the receiving end of one-too-many golfing jokes. You may hope to impress your boss at the next company outing. Unless you want to pay hundreds of dollars in golfing lessons, you are out of luck, right? Wrong! There are a few things you need to focus on to become the golf pro you have always wanted to be. Everything from developing a positive attitude to using the proper discount golf clubs and stances are imperative to educate yourself on if you hope to see improvement in your golfing.

You might be surprised to learn that simply obtaining a positive attitude can be a contributor in transforming a flop stroke into one that could earn you a par on that particular hole. Confidence and a strong mental attitude are reflected in the way the body of a golf master responds. Have you ever tried to run a mile when you are depressed? How about when you are excited about life and confident in yourself? The difference is clear, even if you simply imagine the situation. The concept holds true with golfing as well. Confidence is your first key to success.

However, you obviously need more than a positive outlook to become a golf master. If you have been hitting the driving range for countless hours and still fail to see results, there is obviously something inherently wrong with your practicing. If you were trying to learn the piano, you would get nothing accomplished if you failed to learn proper fingering on the keys and how to count out measures. The same holds true for golf. The varying clubs are used for many different situations from hitting the long shots to getting out of the sand. You surely are already aware of this, but sand pits differ from one another, the wind may change on a given day, and you need to learn how to play differently in each situation if you hope to be a golf master.

Along with using the right cheap golf clubs is practicing your swing and your stance. If you master these important elements, you will be able to hit longer drives, get out of the sand and curve the golf ball the way you want it to as you putt the ball into the hole. Now is the time to get started! Keep reading more to learn everything you can about this topic.

Known as “Golfer Of The Century” or “Golfer Of The Millenium”, Jack Nicklaus could be one of the greatest golfers in the world. Nicklaus was honored by President Bush in 2005 at the Whitehouse with the Presidential Medal Of Freedom – the highest US honor given to any civilian.

Jack Nicklaus was born on 21st January 1940 in Columbus, Ohio. Success came early to Nicklaus when he carded 51 in the first nine holes he ever played and won the Scioto Club Juvenile Trophy at the age of ten. At the age of twelve he won the Ohio State Junior Championship and continued to win this tournament for the following five years from 1952 to 1956. Aged seventeen he qualified for the US Open for the first time and at the age of twenty he came runner-up to Arnold Palmer in the US Open by two strokes and in the process established a record 282 for an amateur entry with his favorite golf clubs.

Since joining the PGA Tour in 1962 he has established himself as the most successful golfer ever. His impressive array of Professional Titles include 6 Masters (1963, 1965, 1966, 1972, 1975, 1986), 5 PGA Championships (1963, 1971, 1973, 1975, 1980), 4 US Open Titles (1962, 1967, 1972, 1980) and 3 British Opens (1966, 1970, 1978). He won on his debut in the US Senior Tour (over-50) in 1990 and continued to win the title. He is the only player in history to have won each of the games majors at least twice and is the only player to have completed the career “Grand Slam” on both the regular and senior tours.

Arguably his finest hour in golf came in 1986 when he won the Masters by playing the last 10 holes in seven under par. He was then aged 46 and regarded by many as “past it”. In summary his major championship statistics comprise of 20 wins, 19 second place and 9 third place which is a truly remarkable career history.

Jack Nicklaus played his 38th and final British Open in 2005 and to commemorate his incredible career achievements the Royal Bank Of Scotland issued a £5 Bank Note bearing his image and recognizing his Open Championship victories at St Andrews in 1970 and 1978. Two million Jack Nicklaus Bank Notes were issued into circulation in Scotland on July 14th 2005, the first day of the Open Championship. Apart from Her Majesty The Queen and the late Queen Mother, Jack Nicklaus is the only living person ever to have appeared on a Scottish Bank Note.

Jack Nicklaus is living in North Palm Beach, Florida with his wife Barbara. They have 5 children and 19 grandchildren.

Golf is more than just a game. Many golfers know it. There’s no denying that golf instills certain physical attributes and that it’s good exercise but there’s more to it than that, and most golfers that I know would wholeheartedly agree. That extra component that golf offers its players is a set of life skills that serve us daily–whether we know it or not. This holds true for new golfers as well as they begin to learn the game and appreciate its overall value not just on the course but in life in general.

But golf isn’t like basketball or soccer when it comes to our younger players. Kids who want to play but don’t have the resources to buy the needed golf equipment or mentors to teach them the game are pretty much left out. The truth is golf can be horribly expensive, even at the junior level.

So what can the average Joe do about this? It depends on how much you want to do.

If you live a rural area or an area that simply doesn’t have a golf mentor program at all, well, consider creating your own mentoring program. You don’t have to be a pro to teach a youngster the fundementals of the game. Schedule a chat with your course manager and discuss the idea with him or her and see if you can’t work something out.

If you live a metro area, chances are there are mentoring programs already in place. A call or visit to one might lead you into taking personal, active action by becoming a mentor. If you don’t have the time or feel as if you don’t have the skills to teach others, perhaps you can do other things to help the program.
If you’re not the mentoring type, consider donating to a program. Many golfers have old golf clubs and bags sitting in their garages that they will never use again. Why let them gather dust and spider webs? Give them to a program of your choice and let someone else enjoy them. Even if you only have a few cheap golf clubs or old clubs (meaning less than a full set, or even an old putter or driver)…donate it/them.
Work hard. You can do it!

Golf is a good sport that killing time. But to play it well is not a easy task. One should practice again and again let alone the pros are improving their skills every day.

Change your Attitude Man!

Your mental attitude can literally make or break your golf game. You may be wondering at this very moment, why more people do not play better golf. After all, the game of golf is simple in concept, a ball on the ground, a cheap golf club in your hand and other golfers watching quietly while you hit the ball. What is the big deal, right? Well, the main reason a golfer continually has a high game has to do with their mental attitude. In order play a better game, it is necessary to start from the beginning with a positive attitude. Beat the game, do not let it beat you.

Have you heard the stories of golfers throwing their clubs when a shot does not go the way they planned? I sure have, my own dad did that. It is exactly that type of mental attitude that hinders performance in a game. Allowing the game to frustrate you does nothing at all to the ball or club (except maybe break it and then what good is it), it only defeats you.

The Principles of golf

What principles do I mean? Well these principles include a variety of areas, such as mental attitude, swing, and determination. Next, how much you are willing to practice? Why not start with the principle of developing a routine? As with anything in life, golf requires diligent application to master. It is suggested that you play golf a minimum of two times weekly. In order to get the most out of the sport of golf, four times weekly is best. This may seem like a lot, but keep in mind that it is a game you love and want to improve.

The Swing of it all!

Finally, the way you swing your golf clubs has everything to do with the result of your golf game. If you do not learned the proper techniques of the swing, you will continue on the present road of your over par golf game. Without knowing exactly how you should be swinging, you cannot even hope to improve. Today`s golfers have listened to all of the hype, theories and stories surrounding the world of golf swings. It is all too easy to fall into the trap and never reach your goal of developing a good golf swing.

By learning and applying all of these main principals, you can begin to enjoy a golf game that is comparable to those played by the professionals.

Remember: Practice Makes Perfect ….

Do rich people need golf discounts? I suppose they don’t even think about anything with the word discount attached to it? Maybe the rich people who golf have so much money that the thought of golf discounts never enters their mind?

With all the expenses that go into playing a round of golf like green fees, cart fees, golf balls, new golf clubs if necessary, do they even care what all that cost.

As an avid golfer, you might spend hundreds of dollars on rounds of golf throughout the year. Shopping online at a golf shop or your local pro shop is routine.

For the high handicap golfer you would probably spend a lot of time looking for new golf balls because you lost a half-dozen on the front nine due to your mean slice that sends your tee shot into the woods never to be found again.

So you need the occasional golf discount on golf balls or a golf driver (taylormade r9 driver) that is more forgiving. And unless you have a ton of cash like the rich, golf discounts are probably the only way to continue financing your golf habit on the cheap, no matter how bad your game.

Conventional wisdom says that only the rich play golf. While it might be an expensive game to play, it’s not just for the rich.

And of course, not all rich people pay for a round of golf every time they hit the links. They could belong to a country club where their green fees are apart of their pricey membership dues sometimes adding up to more than what some families earn in a year.

When you’re not rich you pay attention to words like cheap golf clubs, refund, even exchange, and money back guarantee. Those words mean a heck of a lot to the not so rich who want every bang for their buck.

What’s your way out if you are not rich? You could one day play well enough to qualify for a sponsors’ exemption on the big tour, win a golf tournament and get tons of endorsements and free golf equipment. Farfetched maybe, but until then you keep looking for the best golf discounts you can find to play the game you love.

How does hypnosis work when you swing your golf clubs?

Hypnosis is a natural state of life. During a normal waking day we go in and out of a trance-like state many times. Some of the natural states of trance we encounter are; highway trance, electronic trance (TV and computer), movie trance, reading trance, eating trance, doing two things at the same time, watching the sunset or ocean, daydreaming, boredom or looking at a holographic picture.

In hypnosis, positive suggestions are introduced while in a trance-like state. Contrary to popular belief, you are not asleep. Your mind is actually in a heightened state of awareness while the physical body is relaxed. In this state the conscious mind is bypassed and positive suggestions are given directly to the subconscious mind. By this process, a new habit of mental programming is established and can be accessed without interference from the conscious mind which analyzes, criticizes and rationalizes.

Your subconscious mind is like a computer. A computer can only operate with the programming that is put into it. It has no choice. It has to operate on that programming. You can use the method when you are wondering how to win the golf game with golf equipment.

If you tell yourself “You are so stupid!” when you miss a two-foot putt, your conscious mind is criticizing your performance and sending a powerful message of programming to be recorded into your subconscious mind. In the future when you have a two-footer your subconscious will bring up the program to feel the emotion of being stupid and missing the putt.

Through the use of golf hypnosis these self-imposed programs of sabotage can be transformed into trust, focus, concentration, confidence, relaxation, consistently lower scores and more fun. Since golf is a unique game, it is important to find a qualified hypnotist who knows golf so you can receive relevant programming.

Hypnotherapy is used widely to improve performance in sports. Since the Russians dominated back at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics, hypnosis has been a proven method in sport training. The Russian team took over 10 hypnotists to develop mental clarity and visualization. In the 1980 Olympics, 12 out of 20 Australian swimmers named, were using hypnosis tapes for two months beforehand.

Golf is most likely the most popular sport that applies hypnosis techniques, although has been used with many other individual and team sports including football, tennis and baseball, basketball and even swimming.

Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls used daily Self hypnosis to empower themselves to be an unbeatable team. They won 6 NBA Championships using mind power techniques to maintain their focus.

I believe one of the greatest shots in golf was Tiger’s shot at the 2005 Masters he had hit over the 16th green. It was an incredibly difficult shot that took 100% concentration and complete belief in his internal ability. Watching him take all the elements in, scoping the entire situation and executing with the precision of threading a needle, Tiger holed a shot that was heard around the world. I’m still impressed when I see it! (Watch Tiger in action to the left of this article.)

I’ve worked with golfers of all abilities, from the first lesson of first gripping the golf equipment and addressing the ball, to PGA Tour players of clearing their focus and finding their inner vision. Even though golf is 90% mental, most golfers only practice the physical aspect of the game. Hypnosis is an effective way to connect the mind and body so they work together and improve equally.

So if it is said that golf is 90% mental, then why do most amateur golfers only want to hit balls to improve their game? I’ll tell you why. They don’t know how to do anything else. Many golf instructors and most books don’t emphasize practicing mind power. The big picture is being lost in translation of the essence of the game.

These are just some of the questions you should be asking yourself before you decide to go out and buy a new set of golf clubs. After all this can mean the difference between seeing an improvement in your game or indeed a decline. Which one would you prefer?

Golf Clubs – The Driver

Should I use the driver for all of my tee shots on par 4’s and par 5’s? For a beginner, having a type of golf club like the driver in your bag usually in more of a hindrance than a help. Why? Because when starting out in golf people should focus more on accuracy than overall distance. Just because you can drive 300 yards doesn’t mean you should do it all the time. Beginners should start by using the 5 or 3 wood initially for all their drives (TaylorMade R9 Driver) as they tend to be more accurate. Take this into consideration next time you head down for a round at your local golf club.

Golf Clubs – Woods

How do you know which type of would you need for your game? Well if you are a beginner to the game of golf, you need to look for woods of cheap golf clubs that have a more flat face. The reason for this is because a flat face will increase the likelihood of your ball going straighter down the fairway. This however will also mean that you will be sacrificing distance for overall accuracy. If you have been playing for quite some time now, a better option would be finding a wood that is more curved and therefore has a stronger “sweet spot”. This will increase the distance of your shots, but reduce the accuracy.

Golf Clubs – Irons

How can I tell the difference between a good iron and a bad one? There are two main things you should look for in an iron. One, the amount of grooves on the face and two, the size of the sweet spot on the back of the face. The amount of grooves on the face will determine the level of spin you are able to produce. Some golfers prefer to have less grooves because they feel they can get more distance, but I prefer to choose control above anything else. In actual fact you should not have to worry about distance so much so because if you find a set of golf clubs that contain a strong and central sweet spot, this will be an automatic thing.

Have you ever addicted to golf?

There are millions of people addicted to golf.

Why? Golf can be played on a beautiful course with as many people as you like, and in very pleasant weather. Golf is very gentle on your body, and is truly the sport of a lifetime.

Golf has many physical benefits and is a very efficient way to stay in shape, and has many physical benefits. With golf, you will get the most out of a round if you walk the course; this will also burn a number of calories and improve your cardiovascular health.

Golf can be played by yourself or with as many friends as you like. You can sharing your experience of buying discount golf clubs. You can also chat and visit between each hole while you are waiting on others to finish their holes. Or if you enjoy playing by yourself, you can enjoy the great outdoors, at your own pace.

Carrying your clubs will strengthen your upper body and actually hitting the ball improves your hand to eye coordination.

Few amateurs can devote that amount of time, energy, and money to their golf games, but that shouldn’t stop them from making positive changes in their games by improving their strength and conditioning. Golf is a game of balance, discipline, and touch.

Professional golfers make the game look easy. Their swing with their golf clubs seems as fluid and effortless as running water, and they look as thought they are on a leisurely stroll as they pound drives more than 300 yards and hit high soft iron shots. The truth is they young professionals are strong and fit enough to make a complicated athletic move look simple.

Enhancing and improving those specific shills, requires a balanced regimen with four important components: strength, flexibility, endurance, and diet.

If you think you are addicted to golf, the only thing you have to do is keep going on.

This time of year we all look forward to the traditions of the Thanksgiving holiday. A big turkey dinner with all the family, a full day of NFL Football (even if the games stink, it’s still football), pigging out on all those special desserts, sneaking a turkey sandwich about midnight and watching golf all night long. Or go to the golf course to swing your golf clubs.

If you follow the true spirit of Thanksgiving you have to take a minute to stop and reflect and give thanks for something in your life. In my family we all do it as we are sitting around the table as we feast on that poor turkey. Me, I’m thankful for my pitching wedge (it’s unstoppable), a family that loves me and a pair of sisters that cook a meal that makes Martha Stewart look like hack.

So here’s your chance to start a new Thanksgiving tradition. Maybe you’re prepping for tomorrow’s Turkey Day and having a few celebratory cocktails. A little bonus golf on Thanksgiving has got to be a good thing or buy some great and cheap golf clubs if you need.

Here are some of the “thanks” that we might hear if we were sharing our bird with the guys we watch play golf all year.

Anthony Kim: “I’m thankful that I won last year so I could goof off this year.”

Stewart Cink: “I’m thankful that Tom Watson finally felt his age on the 18th at Turnberry.”

Y.E. Yang: “Do I really have to tell you? Thanks Tiger!”

Tiger Woods: “I’m thankful for all those zeros on my bank account and a successful season even though I didn’t win a major. Oh hell, even I don’t believe that!”

Sergio Garcia:”I’m thankful that I look this good even if I don’t win a major.”

John Daly:”I’m thankful that those guys at Loudmouth Pants are dumb enough to pay me and everyday is Thanksgiving for me.”

Michelle Wie: “I’m soooooooo thankful for my trophy, Duh!”

Rory McIlroy: “The hair, man, the hair!”

Phil Mickelson:”This is an easy one: Amy and the kids.”

Adam Scott: “I’m thankful for are so many hot chics out there to console me.”

For us golf lovers, golf plays an important part in our lives. At first, we want to buy golf clubs on discount golf clubs online store. Then we choose the most suitable golf clubs carefully. We must decide if Ping G15 Irons can create the most beautiful ball line. At weekends and holidays, we bring our favourite golf clubs to golf course, and share interesting stories with our families and friends. At Thanksgiving day, maybe we want to say thank you to golf, the intimate friend in our lives.

Golf, in today's life, does not only mean a simple game or a match. It can play a lot of roles in different industries.

Golf, in today’s life, does not only mean a simple game or a match. It can play a lot of roles in different industries.

The best example is its role in Scottish economy. Peter Lederer, Scottish Tourist Board Vice-chairman said: “Golf tourism can and does have the potential to impact more significantly in every part of Scotland. While I know there has been a received wisdom that our status as world leader and Open Championship hosts in three years out of five was sufficient to build a sustainable and profitable golf tourism industry, we must acknowledge that much more has to be done to build on the $100 million that golf generates for the Scottish economy.”

Not just economy, golf still plays an important role in many other sectors. And in your own life, what’s the role of golf in your life?

Maybe golf is your mistress. When you have a big fight with your partner. You want to go out and breathe some fresh air. At this time, golf is the best choice. You can bring the best golf clubs such as TaylorMade R9 Irons and they would be your partner at that time. But you should remember golf clubs is never the weapons if you want to fight with your partner. This role is not good for anyone, including golf equipment.

The most suitable choice is treating golf clubs as a intimate friends. Golf can help you when you hold a reunion party for your family. You and your father can swing the golf clubs, while your children are playing with the dog. How beautiful the picture is! And when holiday comes, golf clubs maybe your best best gift choice. You can buy discount golf clubs for the golf lovers within your family and your friends.

So what’s the role of golf in your life?.
